Frequently asked questions
Does completing this training qualify me as a police station representative?
No. This training prepares candidates for the Police Station Representative Accreditation Scheme (PSRAS). Completion does not itself confer accreditation or authorisation to provide police station advice. Formal accreditation depends on the recognised external scheme and applicable supervision and assessment requirements.
What does PSR Train cost?
Nothing. PSR Train is free to use, with no paywall, no subscription and no card required. If you sign up now, you can start practising straight away.
What is the PSRAS?
The Police Station Representative Accreditation Scheme (PSRAS). The SRA describes it as "a compulsory qualification for solicitors and non-solicitors who provide legal advice at the police station on a legally aided basis". The assessments are run by the two SRA-authorised assessment organisations, Cardiff University and Datalaw.
Do I need a payment card to sign up?
No. PSR Train is free to use. We do not ask for payment details when you create an account.
Is there anything to cancel?
No. There is no subscription, so there is nothing to cancel or refund. You can stop using PSR Train at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account through the contact page.
